Success Story – Dec – Mr. Goldwire
Midlands Health and Rehab would like to shed light on a very special resident, Mr. Lawrence Goldwire Jr. Mr. Goldwire is a short-term resident that came to Midlands after an approximate 3 week stay at Mcleod Regional Medical Center with the complaints of left leg pain. Upon arrival to Midlands, Mr. Goldwire presented with decreased endurance and intense pain at the surgical site. The nursing staff and physician were both informed and collaborated to manage his pain, which ultimately increased his participation in therapy sessions. Because of his dedication and perseverance, Mr. Goldwire was able to return home with his wife at a supervisory level with home health services.
Success Story – Nov – David Clark
Mr. Clark came to Midlands Health and Rehab after a 2 week stay at Providence Hospital with the diagnosis of chronic heart failure. Upon arrival to Midlands, Mr. Clark was debilitated, required a great deal of assistance with mobility, and his blood pressure would decrease with standing secondary to orthostatic hypotension. Mr. Clark remained focused as he continued to work hard during therapy sessions and was able to return home with his wife at a supervisory level with home health therapy services.
Success Story – Sept – Mr. Furtick
Midlands Health and Rehab would like to shed light on a very special resident, Mr. Kenneth Furtick. Mr. Furtick came to Midlands after an eight-day stay Prisma Baptist Parkridge with a diagnosis of chronic atrial fibrillation. Upon arriving to Midlands, he was extremely debilitated, required maximal assistance with functional mobility tasks and activities of daily living. The interdisciplinary team devised an individualized treatment plan to address Mr. Furtick’s therapy goals and health concerns. Mr. Furtick gave 100% whenever he came to the therapy gym. His hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm paid off, he has currently met all his goals and is currently seeking assisted living residency.
Success Story – Aug – Mr. Brown
Midlands Health and Rehab would like to acknowledge a special resident, Mr. Rickey Brown. Mr. Brown came to Midlands after a two-week hospitalization at Prisma Health Richland with an admitting diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. With the assistance of the physician and the nursing department, his pain was managed. Mr. Brown was one of the first patients in the therapy gym and exercised on his own in his room. His hard work and desire paid off and he was able to return home to his wife independent with all functional tasks!
Success Story – July – Jasmina Davis
Midlands Health and Rehab would love to shed light on a very special resident, Ms. Jasmina Davis. Ms. Davis came to Midlands after a 10-day hospitalization at Prisma Health Baptist with an admitting diagnosis of hypomagnesemia. Some of her other health concerns included: sepsis, multiple sclerosis, and pressure ulcers on both heels. Because of her dedication and drive, and with the assistance of the entire interdisciplinary team, Ms. Davis was able to return home functionally independent with home health services!
